LED LIGHTING

LED LIGHTING UPGRADES FOR SMEs

Typically LED will save you around 70% in energy running costs relative to traditional lighting (i.e sodium, fluorescent and metal halide lighting)

Why LED?

From manufacturing to engineering to wholesaling and everything in between, if you currently have traditional lighting (i.e fluorescent, sodium, metal halide etc) a switch to LED is essential.

LED will deliver a far improved quality of light and far surpass the lifespan of traditional lighting, thus providing significant savings due to not having to replace failing lights (a typical LED Light will run for 50,000 hours whereas traditional lighting 8000 hours).

Claim your free survey so we can calculate specifically, based on your existing lighting arrangement vs a proposed LED arrangement what those savings would be.

To calculate the savings is a relatively simple formula, which factors in the power to run your current lights (vs proposed LED Lights), the running hours of your lighting and your price per unit of energy costs.

Once we have some specific numbers relating to your site, we can then consider advancing the process, applying for available grants, procuring a quality supplier and exploring any other low carbon technologies which may be beneficial to you.

Our Process

  • Free survey...

Free Survey to assess current lighting and determine what the likely savings and grant contribution will be should you upgrade

  • Explore other energy saving solutions ...

Explore other energy saving solutions such as Air Compressors, Solar PV, more efficient machinery, heating etc

  • Tender...

We tender the project to a number of market leading companies to find the best proposition based on price, projected savings, quality of equipment and warranties

  • We compile your grant application...

We compile your  grant application to save your time and increase likelihood of a success.

  • Install chosen equipment...

Only once the grant is contractually confirmed through the grant provider is the chosen equipment installed

  • Sign off the project...

Sign off the project, settle the suppliers balance and receive your grant payment

Doing the right thing by the environment

Climate change has been in the press for many years now, but most scientists agree that we're approaching a tipping point, beyond which it will become increasingly difficult to right the imbalance caused by pollution and the depletion of the earth's resources. LED lights are just one link in the chain that leads to a sustainable future for our planet, but they are a significant one.

What's more, being able to prove to your suppliers and service users that you are doing everything you can to minimise your environmental impact will only have a positive effect on your reputation.

Free and unbiased procurement advice

As with anything, the quality of LED lights comes on a spectrum. Anywhere from poor quality (will fail quickly) right up to top end lighting with 10 year warranties as standard. Our free procurement advice will help guide you firmly towards the latter.

We will conduct a free site survey in order to firstly ascertain just what the savings will be, how much the project will likely cost and of course of that cost how much we can obtain through a non-repayable grant. We can then put you in touch with the right suppliers - businesses in whom we can place our trust to carry out superior work with quality products.

Importantly, we have a great deal of expertise in sourcing low carbon grants and will navigate a great deal of the red tape on your behalf - letting you get on with the day-to-day running of your business.

So what makes for a quality LED light?

The primary components that determine the quality (or lack thereof) in LED lighting are a “driver” and the "LED chips".

The driver regulates the power that ultimately is driven towards the LED Chips. A high quality driver produced by a reputable manufacturer such a Philips or Meanwell will properly regulate the power to the LED`s and allow a little less power, consistently through to the LED`s as they are built to handle. Effectively working the light slightly below its capacity and thus extending its lifespan.

This in contrast with a poor quality driver which will overdrive (allow too much power through to the LED chips) and therefore shorten the lifespan of the lamp. Or worse still simply fail altogether, leaving you with additional costs in once again having to replace the fitting.

The LED Chips are of course responsible for emitting the light to the desired area. The quality of the chips can be measured by a) the brightness and b)the overall degradation of light output over the years. High quality chips can be measured to degrade by as little as 10% over 10 years vs poor quality LED chips which will degrade much quicker.

We understand that retaining a high quality of light, for many years, is important to our clients and therefore only work with suppliers with lights containing some of the worlds market leading chips.
"At all times throughout the project, we were impressed by the professionality and responsiveness of the service we received, and the quality of the advice given. The site survey and grant application process was well explained and went smoothly."
